Lead is the most durable roofing material available and the traditional choice for flashings, valleys and abutments on the Victorian and Edwardian properties that define Great Malvern. When original Victorian leadwork fails after 80 or 100 years, it is not a sign of poor material — it is a sign that it has served its full life. The replacement deserves the same quality of installation.

We carry out lead flashing work to BS EN 12588 standards, using the correct lead code for each application. The most common failure we encounter on Malvern properties is lead that has been installed at underweight specification — Code 3 used where Code 5 is required, or lead that has been over-nailed and has torn at fixings. We do not take these shortcuts.

Leadwork in Malvern: Chimney flashing £300–£600 · Valley lining £400–£900 per valley. Call 01684 439601 for a free quote.

Lead Theft and Replacement

Lead theft from church and period property roofs is an ongoing issue across Worcestershire. We replace stolen lead with correctly specified new material and can advise on protective coatings and GPS-tagged lead that deters and enables detection of theft. All our replacement lead is marked with UV paint as standard.
